Fiberglass sheet has the characteristics of good insulation, strong heat resistance, good corrosion resistance, high mechanical strength. It is widely used in plastic mold, injection mold, machinery manufacturing, molding machine, drilling machine, motor, PCB, ICT fixture, table grinding plate and other fields. But how is fiberglass sheet sheet made? Let’s learn about it today.

1.Raw material preparation: The key raw materials for making fiberglass sheet are fiber glass and resin. Fiberglass is usually fiber glass cloth or fiber glass yarn, and the resin is usually epoxy resin, phenolic resin, etc., according to the need to choose the appropriate raw materials.
What exactly is fiberglass? Fiberglass starts off as a liquid. This liquid is then extruded through tiny little holes, which turn it into thin strands of threads. These threads are coated with a chemical solution and bundled together to form rovings, or long bundles of fibre. Add a bit of resin and you have strong, durable, flexible fiberglass.
2.Cutting: The fiber glass cloth or fiber glass yarn is cut according to the design requirements to prepare the fiber glass sheet of the required size and shape.
3. Ratio: According to the formula requirements, the resin and curing agent are mixed evenly in a certain proportion to form a resin paste.
4. Coating: The cut fiberglass sheet is soaked in the resin paste in turn to ensure that the fiber glass is fully soaked in the resin, and then the resin paste is evenly coated on the surface of the fiberglass sheet by extrusion or rolling.
As you spread the resin over the fiberglass sheet, make sure to apply it over corners and weak spots with the same coverage that you would over flat, easy-to-reach surfaces. If you fail to get good coverage in corners, for example, your fiberglass will eventually develop weaknesses in those corners.
5. Molding: The coated fiberglass sheet is placed in the mold for molding, and then use the method of calendering or pressing to mold, so that the resin slurry is fully cured and formed.
6. Curing: The molded fiberglass sheet is placed in a constant temperature and humidity environment for curing and hardening process, so that the resin is fully cured to ensure the strength and stability of the fiberglass sheet.
7. Cutting and dressing: The cured fiberglass sheet is cut and trimmed to remove excess edges and make it reach the size and surface quality required by the design.
8. Inspection and packaging: The quality of the made fiberglass sheet is inspected, and its appearance quality, dimensional accuracy, strength and other indicators are checked. After passing the test, the sheet is packaged for transportation and use.
