GPO-3 sheet in the general sense is a laminate. This material has another name – UPGM203, which is a standard electrical insulation material with good arc resistance and flame resistance. This product mainly uses alkali-free glass fiber felt board material, which is infiltrated into unsaturated polyester resin paste and finally pressed at high temperature to form a hard plate-like insulation material. This insulation laminate material has electrical properties suitable for electrical materials, so it is widely used in low-voltage electrical appliances and automotive industrial equipment, such as circuit breakers, motors, switchgear and other equipment.
The real GPO-3 sheet has passed the American Safety Laboratory Certification (UL Certification) and has an independent UL identification file number. When purchasing this product, you should ask the manufacturer to provide the UL identification file number to distinguish the authenticity.
The leakage resistance index of the real GPO-3 sheet can reach 600V. If the product does not indicate the leakage resistance index or the index is much lower than this value, it may not be a real GPO-3 sheet.
According to international standards, the density of the real GPO-3 sheet is between 1.81 and 1.83, and it does not contain fillers, which determines the reliable stability of the board. It can be tested with professional density detection tools or laboratories.
The real insulation board is an environmentally friendly product that meets the standards and will not produce smoke after burning. However, the burning of inferior insulation boards will produce thick black smoke.
The real GPO-3 sheet is composed of unsaturated polyester glass fiber felt boards, which will not produce smoke and toxic gases when burning. However, inferior insulation boards are added with chemicals such as flame retardants, which will produce pungent toxic odors when burning.
The real GPO-3 sheet comes from the internal mechanical tension and will not produce delamination at high temperatures. Counterfeit and inferior products will have delamination of the board when burning due to the filling material inside.
Understanding the main application fields and performance of GPO-3 sheet will help to judge the authenticity and quality of the product.
· Physical properties: The hardness of GPO-3 sheet should comply with the ASTM D2583 standard, and the hardness difference should not exceed the range specified by the standard; the density should comply with the ASTM D792 standard and the difference should not exceed the range specified by the standard.
· Mechanical properties: The mechanical properties of GPO-3 sheet are divided into three aspects: tensile, bending and impact. The tensile properties should comply with the ASTM D638 standard, and the ratio between tensile strength and elongation should not be less than the standard requirements; the bending properties should comply with the ASTM D790 standard, and the bending strength and modulus should meet the standard requirements; the impact properties should comply with the ASTM D256 standard, and the absorbed energy should meet the standard requirements.
· Electrical properties: GPO-3 sheet has good electrical insulation. So it can effectively break down voltage and the dielectric constant remains stable.
· Heat resistance: GPO-3 sheet can still maintain normal operation under high temperature conditions. It has good heat resistance and can maintain normal and stable operation at a high temperature of 160°C.
· Flame retardant performance: The flame retardant performance of GPO-3 sheet reaches UL-rated V-0 level, and it does not contain halogen. When it catches fire, the toxic smoke is very small.
· Application range: GPO-3 sheet is widely used in electrical equipment, dry-type transformers, control cabinets, generators, cable trays, power generation equipment and other occasions that require insulation.
